All Wirral Libraries and One Stop Shops will close at 5pm on Christmas Eve, Tuesday, December 24, reopening at 9am, on Thursday, January 2, 2014, with the following exceptions:

 Ridgeway Library will be open from 9am to 1pm, December 24.  Bidston St James Library will be open from 9am to 4pm, December 24.  West Kirby Library will be closed all day on December 24.  Conway Centre One Stop Shop will be closed all day on Saturday, December 21.

The following leisure centres will be closed from Christmas Eve, reopening on Thursday, January 2.

 Beechwood Recreation Centre  Guinea Gap Leisure Centre  Leasowe Leisure Centre  The Oval Leisure Centre  Wirral Tennis & Leisure Centre  Woodchurch Leisure Centre. 

The following centres will be closed from Christmas Eve, to Friday, December 27. They will re-open on December 28 and December 29, and then close again from December 30 until Thursday, January 2:

 Europa Leisure Centre  West Kirby Concourse. 

The council’s call centres will close at 5pm on Christmas Eve and reopen at normal operating hours on Thursday, January 2.

As usual, Wirral Council’s Emergency Duty Team (EDT) will offer an emergency service for enquiries relating to the Department of Adult Social Services or Children and Young People’s Department. The EDT number is: 0151 677 6557.

The service is available outside normal office hours, on Monday to Friday, from 5pm to 9am, and 24 hours a day at weekends and bank holidays including Christmas and New Year’s Day.

The Department of Adult Social Services will also be maintaining a discharge service from hospital and a Wirral-wide response to urgent social care enquiries.
