New classroom and Astroturf soccer pitch for Hoylake school
2:13pm Monday 16th December 2013 in News
CHILDREN at Hoylake primary school are enjoying their new classroom and an Astroturf soccer pitch.
Holy Trinity school invited Wirral West MP Esther McVey to officially unveil the new facilities on Friday.
The classroom, built as a result of the school’s increasing pupil numbers, will be used for Year Six children, while the ball cage - funded partly by a grant from MBNA Bank - means youngsters are able to enjoy a game of football without grazing their knees on a concrete playground.
Sue Duncan, business manager at the school, said: “The classroom is built to the highest specification and is furnished with beautiful modern furniture – it really has the wow factor and our year six pupils are delighted with it.
“It is a lovely, light and airy room, very modern and well equipped – just what our pupils deserve.”
MBNA Bank awarded the school a grant of £5,000 towards the Astroturf, which was then topped up by the Parent/Teacher Association.
