A young pupil from Hoylake’s Holy Trinty has won a competition to design a Christmas card for Wirral West MP and Minister for Employment Esther McVey.

Esther said, “it was tough choosing a winner as the standard was very high.

“We received some fantastic entries; the pupils of Trinity pre-school and primary school are certainly talented artists and embraced the spirit of Christmas.

“In the end, Jennifer Graley from Year 6 whose innovative entry won because everyone, young and old can relate to Christmas, Snowmen and Christmas trees.”

There was also four runners up whose design appears on the back of the card; Eve Noble Year 1, Cai Crompton Year 4, Beth England Year 3 and Megan Joseph Pre-School.

“Esther added: “I look forward to distributing the card and I will be sending one to Government Ministers and leaders around the world including Prime Minister, David Cameron and to Barack Obama, so this card will adorn some very famous homes.

“I’d like to thank the school and all the pupils that took part in this year’s competition.

“Next year I will be extending the competition to include more schools in the Wirral West constituency.”
