Family appeals for help after theft of specially-adapted trike in Wirral
1:52pm Thursday 12th December 2013 in News
A FAMILY is appealing for help in tracing a specially-adapted trike stolen during a burglary at an address in Birkenhead.
Sometime between 10pm on Thursday, November 29, and the following morning the garage of the Beryl Road property was forced open and several items stolen.
One of the stolen items is a "Mission Piggy Back Mk2" trike, which is a specially-adapted machine, belonging to the daughter of the family.
Detective Inspector Justin Danher said: "The family are particularly keen to trace the trike, which has been specially adapted for their daughter's needs.
"As you can imagine, the theft of this trike has been especially upsetting for the family."
Detective Insp Danher said the items were stolen in a large wooden trailer, which was pushed along Beryl Road, before being abandoned and the items taken out and stolen.
"I'm sure if you saw this trailer being moved, you would remember it," he sadi.
"I'd ask anyone who may have spotted this being moved along Beryl Road, or anyone who saw people acting suspiciously in the area, to get in contact.
"It's possible that these items may have been sold on - if you have been offered or have bought any of these items, I'd ask you to get in contact.
Other items stolen include an orange Black & Decker drill, a green cordless Bosch drill, a yellow and black Karcher jet-washer and a white Carrera Centos bike.
Detectives are examining CCTV from the area and the garage will be forensically examined.
Anyone with any information should contact 0151 777 2265 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
