AN aspiring technology blogger from Wallasey is calling on the public as he competes for the chance to be crowned the nation’s Gadget Guru.

Peter Harris passed a gruelling first round of judging to become one of just six finalists.

The 24-year-old is appealing for Wirral people to vote for him on Facebook to put him in the running to win a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to fuel his passion for all things tech.

If successful, Peter will win a dream 12 month scholarship that gives him the chance to the first to review all the latest technology and attend some of the biggest gadget events on the planet.

The hunt for the nation’s ‘Gadget Guru’ is being carried out by shopping price comparison engine, PriceSpy.co.uk.

As well as getting their hands on the latest phones, tablets or games consoles, the Gadget Guru will be given their own blog to manage, share their experiences and raise their profile as a top UK technology expert.

Peter said: “Since a magical box called ‘a Nintendo’ appeared in my life I was a gamer and gadget fanatic. Now a journalist specialising in gaming, on all platforms, and tech I am to inform and entertain about how close we are to getting our hoverboards.”

The winner will be chosen based on a variety of criteria, including the number of Facebook votes and being able to demonstrate to the judges their blog writing skill, technical knowledge and a passion for technology.

The winner will be announced in January, ready for the Gadget Guru Blog launch in the New Year.

Erik Lorentz, spokesman for PriceSpy.co.uk, said: “We were overwhelmed with the hundreds of fantastic entries and had a difficult time choosing the finalists.

“Getting to the final is something that Peter should be very proud of. He now needs the support on Facebook from the people of Wirral to help him achieve this dream scholarship”

Those who wish to vote for Peter can do so via the PriceSpyUK Facebook page within the dedicated voting app. Visit pricespy.co.uk for more information.
