STARS of Britain's Got Talent helped to hammer home the anti-bullying message via inspirational song and dance routines at a Wirral school this week.

The dance team – including local performers and Liverpool-based MD Productions – helped students at Wallasey’s Weatherhead High School to explore emotions centred around the anti-bullying theme.

Natalie Sullivan, assistant head teacher for student services, was thrilled with the positive response from students.

She said: "Collectively we all play a pivotal role in educating our students around this issue of prevention of bullying in schools.

"At Weatherhead we wanted to find a way to best relate this to our students and MD Productions offered a fantastic and totally inspirational perspective on this.

"All the students appreciated their incredible performance and the important messages."

Students were also given a sneak preview of MD Production's new venture – The Emotions Project – a new initiative to team up with local businesses to transform the lives of young people.

An approach will be made to 25 companies to pledge their support and mentor members of the MD Productions group in the Liverpool City Region, as well as offering other services such as internships.

It is hoped the initiative will give 50 young people, aged 14-25, a platform to channel their creative ambitions.

Weatherhead students have shown a keen interest in the project and as a result the performance troupe will visit the school again in the next few weeks to formally launch it to students.
