Birthday greetings to Merseyside's master of mirth - the Globe's tickling tribute to Doddy!
Kenneth Arthur Dodd is 86 on November 8.
What a day, by Jove, to launch a photographic exhibition celebrating five decades at the top of the comedy tree.
The Squire of Knotty Ash is celebrated at the Liverpool Museum in an exhibition featuring photographs by top snapper Stephen Shakeshaft covering Doddy's incredible career - now spanning more than 50 years.
Wirral Globe columnist Peter Grant, who edited Doddy's hardback picture album book, Look at It My Way, and is a personal friend, says: "Ken is a perfectionist in everything he does.
"It was a privilege to spend so much time with him - the book was a labour of love for me.
"Working with him was like being in the presence of an Oxford tutor. He is always inquisitive, wickedly curious and the most naturally funny man I have ever met.
"Seeing him on stage is like watching one of the all-time greats - from Vaudeville to musical hall and present day.
"We won't see the likes of him again. These photos capture the real Ken Dodd.
"Ken is a living legend - his shows at New Brighton Pavilion (next one - November 29) and Liverpool Philharmonic on December 28 and 29 are always sell-outs.
"Ken lights up everywhere he goes."
Curator Paul Gallagher said: "Stephen has been taking photographs of local icons throughout his career, but having seen the honesty and warmth captured in his shots of Ken, it’s quite clear they have developed a particularly special relationship, that has enabled Stephen to portray a rarely-seen side of Ken Dodd."
“His personal archive of images showing Ken as both the entertainer and the man is absolutely fantastic.

Find out why he is a patron of a Wirral bookshop and why will he return there for a special read-through of A Christmas Carol in December.
By Jove - It's Ken Dodd! opens to the public on November 8, until Apri 21, 2014.
