An investigation is underway following a petrol bomb attack in New Brighton.
Emergency services were called to Victoria Parade at about 11pm, on Tuesday, October 29, to a report of a fire.
Fire officers found the front window of the house had been smashed and the front room ablaze.
A grandmother and her grandson were in the property when the fire started, but had made their way outside when fire crews arrived.
They were taken to hospital as a precautionary measure for assessment, suffering the effects of smoke inhalation.
The house has been cordoned-off for examination and house-to-house inquiries are being made.
A full investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Anyone with information should contact Merseyside Police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
