WIRRAL'S dedicated nurses and therapists lead the way in excellence and innovation in local health care, according to experts in the field.
Local continence nurses and speech and language therapists have been announced as finalists for two national awards recognising their excellence and innovation in healthcare.
Wirral Community NHS Trust’s Continence Service has been short-listed in the Nursing Times Awards category for ‘Continence Promotion and Care’ for their innovative approach to working with patients who have a catheter.
It highlights a new way of working that has been developed to ensure Wirral residents do not have to visit hospital unless necessary and instead can receive their treatment at home or in community clinics.
Wirral's speech and language team have been recognised in the "improved partnerships between health and local Government" category of the Health Service Journal awards for their work to improve the awareness and knowledge of language and communication development in young children.
Simon Gilby, chief executive at Wirral Community NHS Trust, said: “It is fantastic to see the high quality, dedicated and innovative work delivered day-after-day to Wirral residents from our local nurses and therapists recognised by these national awards.”
Winners for the Nursing Times Awards will be announced on October 30 and the Health Service Journal Awards on November 19.
GOOD LUCK FROM ALL AT THE GLOBE.
