Wirral school needs your help in bid for community cash
11:07am Friday 18th October 2013 in News
A WIRRAL school needs your support as it campaigns for funding for special new equipment.
The Social Communication base at Devonshire Park Primary School in Prenton has been shortlisted for Lloyds Community Fund, and if successful could receive a grant of £3,000.
It is one of four local causes to be nominated, and will now face a public vote to see if it will receive one of the two top prizes of £3000, or a prize of £300.
Also nominated are Wirral Stick 'n' Step, who support children with cerebral palsy, Birkenhead Youth Club and Wallasey Sea Cadets.
Headteacher Jill Billinge said: "We are thrilled to have made the shortlist for the Lloyds Community Fund.
"Thank you to everyone who has voted up to now. The children in our base will greatly benefit from this funding. We still need your votes!"
The grant would be used to purchase new equipment for the school’s sensory room.
Most of the children in the school’s Social Communication Base have been diagnosed with autism, and suffer with sensory difficulties.
The closing date for votes is November 1.
You can vote online at www.lloydsbank.com/communityfund, by texting CPXA to 61119, or by completing a paper vote in any Lloyds branch.
