Wirral bus company folds
10:31am Tuesday 8th October 2013 in News
A BUS company that ran services throughout Wirral and cross-river has closed with the loss of an estimated 60 jobs.
Impera Buses stopped running their bus services this week. No-one from the company was available for comment.
Some of the firm’s services were subsidised by Merseytravel and will now be run by other companies.
In a statement, Merseytravel said: "We have worked hard to ensure cover for all Merseytravel-run services.
"All services which were previously operated by Impera to and from schools will be operated by Stagecoach until Friday, October 11.
"The routes and the times all remain unchanged. We are in the process of sending out emergency tenders for the continuation of these services and these will be awarded in due course."
Full details of services are available online at merseytravel.gov.uk or by telephoning 0151 236 7676.
