Barnsley defender comes to Prenton Park on month's emergency loan
1:36pm Thursday 3rd October 2013 in News
BARNSLEY defender Jim McNulty has joined Tranmere Rovers on a one month emergency loan deal.
The 28-year old played for Wrexham, Macclesfield Town, Stockport County and Brighton & Hove Albion before joining Barnsley in July 2011.
He has made more than 170 career appearances. McNulty will be available for Saturday's away Sky Bet League 1 fixture against Swindon Town at Prenton Park.
Manager Ronnie Moore said: "With Adam Dugdale returning to Crewe we are low on numbers in defence so I'm delighted to have signed Jim for a month.
"We've got a lot of young players on the pitch at the moment so Jim’s experience will be useful.
"He's a player I've been keen on for a while. He can play in a couple of positions, is big and strong and uses the ball well.
"I'd like to thank David Flitcroft for allowing Jim to join us for a month."
Rovers' goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams has been selected for the Wales squad for their World Cup qualifying fixtures against FYR Macedonia and Belgium.
He has been a regular in Chris Coleman’s squad for the last 12 months but has yet to make his international debut.
Wales play at home to FYR Macedonia on Friday, October 11 in Cardiff before playing their final group match in Belgium a week on Tuesday, October 15.
