A new street name in Ellesmere Port will help bring history alive.
South Road, which contains Hooton Park Trust’s hangars, is being renamed “Airfield Way”.
The request to re-name the road, which is owned by Vauxhall Motors, came from Cheshire West and Chester Council.
Netherpool councillor Diane Roberts said: “The council’s street-naming team originally visited the area because there are three South Roads in Ellesmere Port and they wanted to put an end to the confusion at the hangars site.
“I am delighted renaming this road Airfield Way recognises the significance of this area, acknowledging our wealth of history regarding transport in Ellesmere Port.
“Airfield Way will be a very apt signpost to this wonderful heritage site.”
