OLYMPIAN Beth Tweddle and her Dancing on Ice partner Dan Whiston are calling on adrenaline-lovers to follow their lead and take the plunge for children's hospice Claire House.

The dancing pair, who won the latest series of the ITV show earlier this year, took part in the ZipWire Challenge at Zipworld in Snowdonia to raise cash for the Bebington-based charity.

Reaching speeds of 100mph, the daring challenge was part of Claire House’s Adrenaline Autumn which is made up of a string of events including a 10,000ft skydive and an abseil in the Loggerheads Country Park.

Beth, who retired from professional gymnastics last month, said she was inspired to complete zipwire after visiting the hospice this summer and meeting children and young people receiving care.

Beth said: "I loved every minute of it! It’s a brilliant challenge to do with a group of friends and for a fantastic charity.

"I visited Claire House over the summer and it was such an inspirational place; I love spending time there."

Claire House offers respite and care to children and young people with life-threatening and life-limiting conditions across Merseyside, Lancashire, Cheshire and North Wales.

And Clair Bedford, from Claire House, said the charity were thrilled to be backed the pair.

She said: "Adrenaline Autumn has proved to be extremely popular and we are delighted that both Beth and Dan could take part in our zip wire challenge and raise awareness for Claire House.

"I even had a go at the zipwire myself and if I can do it, anyone can. I loved it!"
