Moore blasts 'shambolic' performance that ended in defeat for Tranmere Rovers

TRANMERE Rovers Boss Ronnie Moore has blasted a 'shambolic' performance that led to his side's 5-0 defeat at home to Peterborough.
They conceded three times before half time and were reduced to ten men following the sending off of Andrai Jones. The visitors sealed the victory with two further goals in the second half.
Rovers were booed and some supporters walked out 15 minutes before the end of the game.
Moore said: "It hurts. Tranmere Rovers don't fall like that. At the start of the game there was nothing in it then a stupid mistake cost us.
“We defended how we've defended all season and that's why I'm looking to bring someone in.
"We thought we had him this week but it didn't materialise. We're not daft, we know where we need to strengthen.
"You can't give a side like Peterborough a goal start. Then you're 3-0 down at half time with ten men against a team that would be hard enough to play against 11 v 11. They work the ball, they've got good movement and pace all over.
"You can't make excuses, we were defensively awful and shambolic at times.
"It's not the group, it's individuals who are making mistakes. Their centre half ran right through our half and it ends up in the back of our net.
"If you defend like that it doesn't matter who you play. You've got to defend better than we are at the moment. We've got to get someone in sharpish.
"We need a left sided centre half. We'll be out on Monday having a look at all the under-21 games going on, we've got the names of people we're looking at and we'll see if clubs will let them come.
"Sometimes ten can do well against eleven but not when you're playing against a team that can pass it and move it and have probably got a budget of £5 million as well which helps.
"We've got to keep going. I've got to come in and get cracking and try to get them organised."
The impressive visitors scored their fourth and fifth after half time and spent most of the match in possession.
There were two changes to the team that started the previous game at Crewe as Andrai Jones made his first start at Prenton Park in place of the suspended Danny Holmes and Abdulai Baggie replaced the injured Joe Thompson.
A third-minute cross from Baggie almost gave Lowe a chance on goal but the ball was just over the head of the striker, while Peterborough quickly had an opportunity of their own but Tyrone Barnett shot wide following a goalmouth scramble.
Rovers resume their Capital One Cup campaign tomorrow night, facing Championship side Bolton Wanderers. Kick-off will be at 7.45pm.
Their League One campaign continues with an away game against Oldham away on Saturday. Kick off 3pm.
