WIRRAL housing association Magenta Living is to start work on building 88 homes after being awarded £1.32million in Government funding.
The organisation, which already owns and manages more than 12,000 homes, the boost from a £56million allocated to the North West from the Homes and Communities Agency.
Wirral's share means 14 homes will now be built on a site in Field Road, Wallasey, 14 in Kenilworth Gardens, Overchurch, 36 at Melrose and Thornridge in Moreton and 24 as phase two of the development at St Josephs Place, Birkenhead.
Steve Eaves, assistant director of development for Magenta Living, said: "We are delighted that we can add to our development portfolio with this grant.
"We already have the sites and now we have the funding to build 88 much needed homes. Magenta Living is always looking at ways it can develop more homes and we will continue to bid for funding as it becomes available."
Work is expected to begin on the first new homes in September.
