3:29pm Thursday 22nd August 2013 in News
HOYLAKE'S first Beer Festival will take place in the town over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
The three-day celebration at Hoylake Community Centre in Hoyle Road opens on Friday, with a session starting at 6pm until 10-30pm.
There are two Saturday sessions, running from midday until 4pm and 6pm to 10-30pm, and on Sunday from 12noon-6pm.
The Friday and Saturday evenings sessions will see performances from local folk band Reckless Elbow.
Saturday and Sunday afternoon sessions will feature live music from popular Wirral artist Phil Chisnall. Entry includes a free glass and programme.
Steve Briscoe, managing director of festival sponsor Peerless Brewery, said: "The festival will showcase a great range of beers from Northumberland to Sussex - so really great for cask ale enthusiasts, but it will be a fun event for everyone and all in a very good cause.
"As the local brewery we felt it was important that we supported the festival with our services to set it all up and we hope it will raise plenty of funds for the community centre as well as making a great Bank Holiday event – the first ever in Hoylake.
Tickets and further details are from the Parade Community Centre also at the Peerless brewery in Pool Street, Birkenhead, or from www.hoylakebeerfestival.eventbrite.co.uk
