A TEENAGER has been arrested on suspicion of affray and criminal damage after throwing tiles from the roof of a Wirral McDonalds.
Police were called to McDonalds in Grange Road, Birkenhead, on Saturday night following reports that a male had climbed on to the roof and was threatening to jump.
When they arrived at the scene, the 17-year-old began throwing roof tiles from the roof, causing damage to a police car.
The road was closed at the junction of Grange Road, Whetstone Lane and Oxton Road while the police negotiator talked with the teenager, who is believed to be from Birkenhead.
Following negotiations he came down from the roof at 9.30pm. He was arrested on suspicion of affray and criminal damage and taken to a police station for questioning.
A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: "Merseyside Police would like to thank members of the public for their patience while the negotiations were ongoing."
