HOUSING tenants across Wirral are being offered a low-cost way to get online at the same time as learning valuable computer skills.
Magenta Living – formerly Wirral Partnership Homes - has been awarded £25,000 as part of the Government's "Digital Deal" to provide affordable, recycled computer equipment and training for tenants.
Jamie Martin, Magenta Living's head of community regeneration, said: "Digital Deal Challenge funding will help us build on the positive partnership working which has seen more than 100 residents achieve IT training qualifications.
"It's an innovative project that will enable us to provide affordable opportunities for our residents to get online."
Magenta Living’s project was one of 12 successful bids selected from more than 140 nationwide.
The Digital Deal is providing £400,000 of funding from the Department for Work and Pensions and the Department for Communities and Local Government.
