TWO Wirral Hospice St John’s volunteers abseiled down Leasowe Lighthouse and raised £2,194 for the charity.
Veronica Wilkinson and Suzanne Hughes said they thoroughly enjoyed their experience and admitted the elated feeling they had after their challenge was well worth the nerves.
The charity's fundraising co-ordinator Kerry Threadgill is delighted with their support.
She said: "We are so grateful to Veronica and Suzanne for working so hard to raise such an amazing amount of money for the Hospice.
"We are proud to have such brave volunteers who have taken part in this nerve-wracking challenge to show their support!"
Leasowe Lighthouse will be holding another 250th Anniversary public abseil on October 5.
