WIRRAL-based horror writer Ramsey Campbell will talk about his career at Literally ... A Bookshop in New Brighton next week.

The presentation, dubbed a Bit of a Fright Night. will take place at the venue opposite the railway station in Atherton Street next Wednesday, July 3, at 6.30pm.

The world-famous horror author, who lives in Wallasey will give readings, a question and answer session and a book signing.

Cathy Roberts, of Literally, said: "When Ramsey said he would come to do a talk we were thrilled. We want to appeals to all tastes and the is no one better than this multi-award winner writer - master in his field.

"Stephen King said that good horror writers are quite rare and that Ramsey Campbell is better than good.

"That sums up Ramsey's global reputation and status in the horror genre."

Ramsey told the Globe: "It will be good to see some old friends and hopefully some new ones. "
