Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service was called at 12.20pm to Warrington Street.

The found the shed in a precarious position. It had been dragged by a gusting winds from a neighbouring balcony.

Firefighters dismantled the 6ft by 8ft storage unit to make it safe and were on scene for about half-an-hour.

Watch manager Andy Blythe at Birkenhead fire station said: “The shed was blown over a 6ft dividing wall and could have been blown onto the road below, which was quite busy.

"The shed had not been secured or anchored properly. People should be aware of securing structures in place and should be aware of the effect of strong winds at height or surrounding tall buildings.”
