NEW advisers giving intensive support to troubled families and help them get into work have been welcomed by Esther McVey, MP for Wirral West.

These employment advisers will provide practical support, including CV writing, job interview skills and highlight training opportunities and job vacancies in Wirral.

New figures have also shown local authorities across the country have successfully turned around the lives of 1,675 troubled families after nine months of the three- year programme - including 57 in Wirral.

Ms McVey said: "Across Wirral 910 families have been identified as needing extra support and help to turn their lives around.

"This extra employment specialist will provide practical help to put adults from troubled families on the path back to work."
