Wirral off-licence staff threatened with handgun during armed robbery
STAFF were threatened with a handgun during an armed robbery at a Wirral off-licence.
Detectives are appealing for information following the incident in Martins Lane, on Friday, February 22.
Police were called to The Wine Cellar on Martins Lane, Liscard at around 10.20pm, to reports of a robbery.
It is thought a man entered the store, produced a black handgun and demanded cash from the till.
He then left the store, with a quantity of cash, on foot in the direction of Central Park Drive, Liscard.
The man was wearing a dark coloured duffle coat and had his face covered.
No-one was injured in the incident but the staff members was left shaken.
Detective Constable Keith Irving: "This must have been a very frightening experience for the staff members in the store and we are working hard to trace the person responsible.
"I'm sure local residents would agree that this person needs to be brought to justice and I would urge anyone with any information about this incident to get in contact."
The scene has been forensically examined and CCTV is being sought from the area.
