Firefighters gave oxygen and first aid to a man after his car drove through the wall of a garage.

Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service was called to the detached garage at 11.54am on Thursday, February 28, at Oldfield Way, Heswall.

Firefighters moved the car and the man away from any dangerous structures.

Safety advice was also given to the owner of the garage.

Firefighters also requested an ambulance. The man refused hospital treatment.

An appliance from Hewsall Fire Station and one from West Kirby attended the call-out. The Search and Rescue Team, based at Croxteth, also responded to the call to assess the stability of the garage.
