THE Neston Players have three nominations in the prestigious North West Amateur Theatre Awards 2012.

The annual awards celebrate and recognise amateur dramatic productions right across the North West.

This year's Neston hopefuls year are: Best Actor (Drama): Rob Poston for 'Kaffee' in 'A Few Good Men'.

Best Supporting Actor (Drama): Richard Dodd for 'Kendrick' in 'A Few Good Men'.

Best Staging: 'A Few Good Men'.

The group received multiple nominations for the 2011 awards and are hoping for success this year.

Chairman, Paul Kirkbright said: "Neston Players are delighted to be nominated once again for these prestigious regional awards.

"Another three nominations this year really reflects the hard work and effort the membership puts into each and every production.

"Having just celebrated our 60th anniversary season and now with our next production looming on the horizon these really are exciting times for the Players."

The Players' next production, their first ever musical, will be staged from May 8-11.

The Eurovision inspired musical comedy 'Eurobeat!' celebrates everything loveable and cringe-worthy about the Eurovision Song Contest.

The musical is set in Sarajevo, the city which has won the right to host the competition.

Paul Kirkbright continued: "It is a truly interactive musical. The audience get involved and vote for their favourite entry so that a different winner could be crowned every performance."

Performances start at 7.45pm and there is a 3pm matinee performance on Saturday, May 11.

Tickets are available from Temptations in Neston High Street, Neston Dry Cleaners, Linghams in Telegraph Road, Heswall and Eclipse Ladies Fashion in Brimstage. The can also be bought online from www.brownpapertickets.com/event/339848
