Wirral bands to battle for place in Out Of The Ashes Festival
WIRRAL bands will battle it out next week for a place on the main stage at this year's Out Of The Ashes music festival.
Taking place at Vauxhall Sports club in Ellesmere Port from July 26-29, the festival features a mix of 70 signed and unsigned bands, with some returning favourites from last year and plenty of new faces.
The first heat of the battle of the bands competition to decide who will be in with a chance of appearing at the festival takes place on Saturday, March 9 at Revolver in New Chester Road, Birkenhead.
Four bands will fight for a position, giving audiences rock through to heavy metal. Winners of heat one will be announced at 1am.
Festival promoter David Bakstad said: "After a storming performance last year which saw forty bands blast it out in blistering heat and heavy rain to a jubilant crowd, Out of Ashes Festival is set to rise again.
"Among those returning are Lazarus Syndrome, with their own brand of melodic metal. They have also graced the stage of Download festival uk.
"Another previous performer at the Download festival but new boys at Out of the Ashes are Impaled Existence.
"Hailing from North Wales and formed in 2004 Impaled Existence will be throwing out some progressive death metal on the outdoor stage.
"With many of the other bands also carrying some heavy credentials this year's Out of the Ashes festival is set to be even bigger, bader and louder than last year’s epic event."
Whiplash promotions representing the black metal corner will be taking over the outside stage on the openinng night.
Doors open at 7pm with admission at £5.

last year was epic and looking at the current lineup for the festival this year is going to be special, one of the times when you can say to future generations that you were there
bring on the battle of the bands and good luck to the winners
