WIRRAL marine engineering firm SeaKing Electrical has completed a major international contract to upgrade Thomson’s flagship cruise liner 'Thomson Dream'.

The vessel can hold more than 1500 passengers and is the largest and best equipped in the Thomson fleet.

It currently operates on the travel specialist’s luxurious Caribbean and Mediterranean cruise routes.

Birkenhead based SeaKing Electrical delivered a complete electrical upgrade to the vessel’s beauty salon and health club areas to drive energy efficiency.

The company also installed a special 'mood lighting' scheme on the vessel’s leisure deck to improve passenger experience.

SeaKing's group business development manager Neil Mellenchip said: "Each element of our work was planned and designed to complement the schedules of other contractors working on the upgrade.

"This enabled us to plan an efficient installation programme with minimal disruption to Thomson’s luxury service.

"The message we want to deliver to cruise operators looking to upgrade and refit vessels is that SeaKing delivers a complete marine electrical engineering solution.

"Our services include consultation, planning and design to manufacturing, installation and maintenance."

Well done Sea King ! A good solid Birkenhead company still doing well. I always remeber, as an electronics apprentice in the 80's, recognising your K in your name being represented as a transistor, cutting edge or what?
