They are the champions: Nathan and Anna
STUDENTS from Wirral Taekwondo Academy become Grand Champions after competing in a Taekwondo event held in Hereford.
Eleven-year-old Nathan Saunders and Anna Williams, 13, were among a team of 17 students who took part in South Midlands Taekwondo Championships in Hereford.
All the students did exceptionally well and they returned with an impressive haul of eight gold, four silver and two bronze medals.
Chief instructor Richard Saunders said: "It was wonderful to see so many students coming back with medals.
"Nathan and Anna were fantastic and it shows that the level of Taekwondo we have in both junior boys and girls and at black belt level is second to none."
"In addition to this the spirit and team work of Wirral students was evident with students and parents supporting each other at every opportunity."
More trophies were won by Jai Drury, Richard Jones, Sean Williams, Brian Anderton, Faye Ainsworth, James Welsh, Connor Ainsworth, Mike Orford and Mia Gerrard.
Richard Saunders continued: "It was our first tournament of 2013 and I was so pleased with everyone's performance on the day."
