THREE Wirral apprentices have been shortlisted for the prestigious Liverpool City Region Apprenticeship Awards.

Sarah Brogan, Adam Hill and Eamee Boden were nominated by their training providers or employers and drawn from a group of 18 hopefuls following the first round of judging.

They will join other nominees from across the city region that will be recognised for their commitment, contribution, success and progress during the awards ceremony.

The awards celebrate the region’s best and brightest young apprentices as well as the employers who support their training and career development.

The winner will be announced at the gala award ceremony at St George’s Hall in Liverpool on March 12.

Sarah, 21, from Bebington, trained at Wirral Metropolitan College and is a human resources team leader working for recruitment agency Russell Taylor Management.

Adam, 20, from Seacombe, was trained by Mercier Partnership and works for ProperGeeks, a computer repair company in a customer service and repairs role.

Eamee Boden, 19, from Rock Ferry, trained by Sysco and employed by The Reader Organisation, a charitable education initiative to work with local children and young people to inspire them to read for pleasure.

Councillor Pat Hackett, Wirral's cabinet member for regeneration and planning strategy said: "Apprenticeships are a great way of enabling a business to grow whilst helping the individual to gain vital skills.

"This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the very best apprentices and the companies that employ them."
