A COUPLE in their 70s were freed from their car after it overturned on the M53 last night.
Firefighters were called to the incident near junction 3 southbound just after 7.20pm.
The man and woman were trapped in the vehicle.
Firefighters gained access to the vehicle and worked with paramedics and a doctor on scene to free the casualties.
The man and woman are not believed to have been injured however they were taken to Arrowe Park Hospital for a precautionary check-up.
Crews from Upton and Bromborough fire stations attended along with the Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service Search and Rescue Team.
