RONNIE Moore has injury worries ahead of Tranmere Rovers League One match against Carlisle United tomorrow.

The Prenton Park fixture, kick-off 3pm, will be the 80th time the two clubs have gone head to head.

French striker Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro is expected to be in Moore's squad, more than two months after suffering a broken metatarsal.

But Moore has one or two injury doubts following a non-football incident earlier in the week.

In a statement on the club's website Tranmere Player, Moore said: "A few of the boys were injured in a car crash on Tuesday.

"It was nothing major but someone hit Michael Kay's car and him, Andy Robinson and Adam McGurk were in the car.

"They've got a bit of whiplash and stiff backs and haven't trained for two days and won't train today so we'll just have to wait and see.

"Jean-Louis is bruised and it's just a matter of pain. We'll have to wait and see what he's like but I think there's every chance he could play."

Top of the table Rovers have won 32 of the previous meetings with 30 going the way of the Cumbrians and 17 ending all square.

Earlier this season, Birkenhead-born Andy Robinson scored all three goals in Rovers' 3-0 win at Brunton Park while Carlisle won last season's game at Prenton Park 2-1.

Rovers’ biggest home wins over Carlisle were three 6-1 victories.

In 1963-64 Les Jones, Ralph Gubbins, John King, Dave Hickson and an own goal secured the win for Dave Russell’s team, nine years after Ernie Blackburn's team had won thanks to strikes from Harold Atkinson, Mike Fleming, Bill Lamont and Harold Bell.

A Jason Koumas hat-trick and goals from Jason Price, Stuart Barlow gave Rovers a win by the same score in the FA Cup in 2001-02.
