BOOKWORMS looking for love are invited to a special speed-dating event.

"Booklovers Speed-Dating" will take place at Wallasey Village Library on Valentine’s Day, February 14, between 6.30pm and 7.30pm.

Participants will have the chance to share their favourite books with potential suitors and discuss their love of literature.

And organisers are hoping more bachelors sign up in time for the event as the balance is currently tipped towards women.

Councillor Chris Meaden, cabinet member for culture, tourism and leisure, said: “So far we have had a remarkable response from ladies who want to take part, but only a limited number of men.

"The event is open to all, and I would recommend anyone who wants to get involved to get their tickets soon.”

Tickets for the event cost £3 and are available from Wallasey Village Library, or by calling 0151 638 1024. Ticket price includes light refreshments.
