TRAVEL LATEST: Disruption possible to flights to/ from Liverpool John Lennon Airport due to adverse weather conditions elsewhere.

Departing passengers advised to check the status of their flight with their airline before travelling to the airport.

The airport is open and operational, however snow across the UK and continental Europe is causing delays and cancellations to some flights.

LATEST TRAVEL NEWS: Delays, slow traffic and traffic heavier than normal due to snow on M65 Westbound between J4 A666 Blackburn Road (Darwen / Blackburn South) and J2 M61 J9 (Clayton Brook). Average speed 25 mph. Travel time is 15 minutes.

Stanley School, Thingwall

The decision on whether a school closes or not is one that rests with each individual headteacher. Parents are advised their to check individual school's website for further information.
