TRANMERE Rovers in the Community Trust has launched a programme of in-school workshops to help Wirral students identify their career goals.

'What’s Your Goal?' is run by Tranmere Rovers in the Community in conjunction with Football League sponsor nPower.

The programme will give Wirral and Ellesmere Port students in school years 10 and 11 the opportunity to gain valuable work experience within the football industry.

Two youngsters will shadow the community manager and two will shadow the community coach at the club gaining insight into their roles.

Tranmere Rovers in the Community staff will be visiting schools to give workshops on creating CVs and identifying career goals.

As part of the programme, staff will encourage the students to apply for one of the four-day work experience placements at the club, and will assist them in completing application forms.

The programme leaders will pick the lucky students, with the placements due to begin in Easter 2013.

The workshops will be taking place between now and mid-February, with a March 1 deadline to apply for work experience at the club.

Steve Williams, Tranmere in the Community manager, said: "What’s Your Goal’ has been designed to give students a taste of working for a football club and what is involved behind the scenes.

"Our staff put hours of hard work in to making the club a great success. This work experience will prove beneficial to the chosen students and will boost their CV for any future job applications."
