EXCLUSIVE: £1m unclaimed lottery raffle prize in Wirral - and time's running out!
THE search is on to find a Wirral punter who has just two weeks left to claim their ONE MILLION pound lottery raffle win!
The £1m EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle prize has yet to be claimed in the borough.
Every week the raffle creates two millionaires - but one of the 100 UK winners from the draw to celebrate the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games on July 27 has still to check their ticket and claim their prize.
The draw was a "thank you" to National Lottery players for helping fund the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The search continues to find the owner of the winning ticket which was bought in the borough of Wirral.
For every EuroMillions line played, UK players automatically receive a EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle selection printed on their ticket.
The winning selection for this ticket from the draw July 27, 2012, was DZY093428 and the lucky ticket-holder has until Wednesday, January 23, 2013, to make their claim.
If no-one comes forward with the winning ticket before the prize claim deadline, then the prize money, plus all the interest the prize has generated, will go to National Lottery Good Causes.
A EuroMillions spokesman said: “We’re desperate to find this mystery ticket-holder and unite them with their winnings – this amazing prize could really make a huge difference to somebody’s life and would certainly be a great start to 2013.
“The winner would be able to buy a five-bedroomed mansion in sought-after Parkgate with open views across the Dee Estuary towards the Welsh Hills - and have enough left over to own three brand new Range Rover Evoque cars manufactured at the nearby Halewood plant.
“Time is quickly running out so we’re urging everyone to check their old tickets again or look everywhere a missing ticket could be hiding.
"Try checking in the pockets of clothing, in wallets, bags and down the back of the sofa – someone out there could literally be sitting on a fortune!
“We’re ready to pop the champagne cork and have our fingers firmly crossed that the lucky winner comes forward to claim their win.”
To jog EuroMillions players’ memories, the draw was the same day as the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games – a spectacle created by Academy Award-winning film director Danny Boyle which was watched by a worldwide television audience of an estimated 900 million.
