State-of-the-art treatment machine installed at Clatterbridge Cancer Centre

Staff from The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre with Tommy Brennan the first patient to use the new TrueBeam accelerator.
A NEW state-of-the-art radiotherapy machine has been installed at Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.
The TrueBeam Accelerator radiotherapy machine treats cancer patients from across Cheshire and Merseyside.
It was installed in early December and has already been used to treat a number of patients.
Julie Massey, Radiotherapy and Imaging Manager said: "It's a real privilege to work at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.
"We are one of the largest radiotherapy centres in the UK delivering standard and specialist radiotherapy and offering faster, more effective diagnosis and treatment to help fight a wide range of cancers.
"The new Truebeam Accelerator is one of several state of the art machines that are available to people in the region and will make a real difference to future patient experience and treatment success."
Clatterbridge Cancer Centre boasts some of the most modern radiotherapy and imaging facilities anywhere in Europe and the Centre's comprehensive suite of facilities includes a wide range of equipment.
