2:30pm Friday 4th January 2013 in News
A WIRRAL woman was found dead in an alleyway shortly after Christmas has been named as Pauline Ryder, from Chapelhill Road, Moreton.
The 53 year old’s body was discovered at 9am, on December 27, off Oakenholt Road, Moreton.
The inquest into her death was opened on Wednesday by Wirral's coroner.
According to coroner’s officer Donald Johnston, Ms Ryder was last seen alive at a nearby shop on Boxing Day.
Mr Johnston said: “She was last known to be alive at about 10am on December 26 when she visited the Tesco store in Moreton.
“On the morning of December 27, a refuse collector was at Oakenholt Road as part of his work. As he entered the alleyway, he saw the body of a female.”
The worker immediately called emergency services.
Police and paramedics attended the scene. There were no suspicious circumstances.
A post-mortem examination was carried out at the Countess of Chester Hospital and the inquest has been adjourned until a date to be fixed.
