CHRISTMAS came early for children at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre thanks to a toy donation from a recruitment company.

Warrington-based Integra People donated £500 worth of toys for the hospital’s young patients.

The children, aged between 4 -12 years old, were treated to some early Christmas presents such as Lego, action figures, dolls, Xbox games, books and much more.

David Lewis, Integra People's managing director, said: "The centre provides essential care for all its young patients and at Integra we greatly admire the work and dedication of its staff.

"We hope that the toys that we have donated go some way to making the children’s stay at the hospital a little bit more comfortable.”

Kimberley Smith, corporate Fundraising Manager at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre said: "On behalf of the staff and patients at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, we are so grateful for Integra People’s continued support and for donating a wonderful array of presents for our younger patients for a second year.

"The generosity of local businesses throughout the region really makes a huge difference to the work and support that we carry out here at the centre and these presents will certainly help to bring a smile to the faces of our younger patients."

Clatterbridge also had all their Christmas decorations destroyed in storage and along with other generous companies in the area, Integra donated £150 to enable the centre to buy some brand new ones just in time for Christmas.

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre is one of the largest NHS specialist cancer treatment facilities in the UK and helps provide vital cancer research, treatment and care to their patients across the region.

The centre treats more than 27,000 patients each year and offer radiotherapy and chemotherapy services.
