DARTS ace Gary Anderson is targeting global domination after progressing through to the second round of the 2013 Ladbrokes World Darts Championships.
The Flying Scotsman, who has family links with a pub in Rooksbridge, defeated debutant Jani Haavisto 3-1 at London’s Alexandra Palace on Sunday (December 16).
He’ll face John Bowles in a last 32 showdown on Friday afternoon.
Anderson, who ran the Wellington Arms full-time until taking a back role recently, said: “I'm really pleased with that and I felt I played well.
“For three years I've played a brilliant new international player and they've played really well, and Jani had a good go there.
“He hit a couple of 177s and big finishes, but I'm happy with the way I'm playing. In practice I'm playing well and I felt alright on stage, even when he was putting the pressure on me.”
The number four seed had his best finish of the tournament in 2011 when he was runner up to Stoke’s Adrian Lewis.
