Wirral motorists urged to de-ice car windows following collision
MOTORISTS are being urged to take time when de-icing their vehicle windows following a collision between a car and van in Bebington this morning.
Firefighters were called to Brimstage Road at 7.34am. They made the vehicles safe by isolating the batteries. The occupants of both vehicles were out of the vehicles when firefighters arrived.
Crews from Bromborough and Birkenhead fire stations attended the call-out.
Watch Manager Dave Simpson, who is with Blue Watch at Bromborough Fire Station and attended the call-out, said: "It was noted on some of the passing vehicles in this area that drivers had not taken the time to de-mist and de-ice their car windows and some mirrors which can cause hazards themselves on the roads.
"We advise that drivers should take the time to do this to really the reduce the chance of accidents at this time of year."
