TRANMERE Rovers face Chesterfield in the FA Cup second round at Prenton Park tomorrow.

Ronnie Moore says he expects League Two side Chesterfield to play the type of football their manager used to produce for Rovers when the sides meet at Prenton Park in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Paul Cook appeared 69 times in midfield for Rovers in the mid-1990s, playing under John King and John Aldridge in Division One.

At stake tomorrow is a place in the FA Cup third round draw, which will be made on Sunday.

The draw, which includes Premier League and Championship clubs, takes place at approximately 2.40pm, live on ITV1.

The last time Rovers reached the third round they faced Wolverhampton Wanderers at home.

Assessing his side's opponents ahead of tomorrow's game, Moore said: "I've seen the DVDs and we had them watched on Saturday. They've played well in some games and fluked others which is a sign of a good team that you win games when you're not playing well.

"It's the FA Cup and the league form goes out of the window. It's about the 90 minutes and I like to think we can cause them one or two problems."

Moore said: "He was a great player with a great left peg. He saw a pass and his sides will be passing it, they won't be lumping it forward, that's for sure. It will be a game played in the right way.

"He's varied it this season, he's played 4-4-2, 4-5-1 and 4-3-3 so we'll just have to wait and see what team he comes with. But for me, it's about what we do.

"A bit like myself, he started at Southport. Then he got his education in Ireland and it's fantastic what he did over there.

"He did really well at Accrington on a budget of next to nothing now he's got the opportunity at Chesterfield.

"They've got a great stadium, good players and I think he'll do well there.

Owain Fon Williams says the potential of meeting a Premier League side in the third round of the FA Cup is a big incentive ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup tie at home to Chesterfield.

He said: "Everyone wants to play in the FA Cup as it’s an opportunity to play against the big guns.

"Chesterfield are a decent side, a tough team to play against. We came up against them in the first game of the season and they’ve had a few changes since then but most of the players are the same. We know a little bit about them and it will be tough.

"We're playing at home and we’re going to lose a couple of our players due to the loans but we'll go over the way we approach the game and make sure we cover all areas to win the game.

"It would be nice to be in the draw [and to play against a Premier League side].

"We've tasted it already after beating Chesterfield when we played at Villa Park and they’re the type of places you want to play every week. It’s Chesterfield again on Saturday and if we beat them it’s a great opportunity for us."

Rovers fans can meet the players at the club's signing day on Monday, 3 December. It will be held in the Club Shop between 4pm – 5.30pm.
