ROBBERS left a Wirral woman “shaken” after they grabbed her bag and drove away.

The incident happened on Greendale Road, Port Sunlight, at around 12.30pm on Monday, when two men grabbed a carrier bag containing cash from the woman.

Officers are now conducting house-to-house enquiries, searching CCTV and carrying out forensic tests.

Detective Constable Emma Barr said: "Incidents such as this are very rare in Port Sunlight and we urge anyone who may have seen two men acting suspiciously in the area around the time to call us in case they have any information that could help the investigation.

"We will act on all information we receive to find those responsible and put them before the courts."

A “stocky” man, who was aged between 30 and 40 and around 5ft 6ins to 6ft tall, ran off in the directions of Ellen’s Lane where he got into a silver-coloured car.

He was wearing a black plain jacket with a knitted woolly hat and spoke with a local accent.

The other man is believed to have been driving the car.
