A WOMAN was robbed after she withdrew money from a cash machine at Wallasey.

The incident happened on Friday, October 26 at around 9pm on Bell Road, when the woman was approached from behind by a man who demanded money.

He pushed her to the ground during the struggle and ran off towards Liscard Road.

Police say the woman, who is in her 50s, was left uninjured but “very shaken” following her ordeal.

The man is white, around 5ft 5 ins tall and slim. He was wearing a black hooded top, dark coloured jeans and black training shoes.

Detective Cons Jayne Birch, said: "This was a frightening experience for the victim.

"Robberies are rare in this area and I am hoping someone will have witnessed some unusual or suspicious activity on this particular evening and who may be able to help our investigation.

"I would particularly like to hear from anyone who recognises the description of the offender or who saw someone like this in the area on Friday night. Information like that, however small, could help us trace the people responsible."
