TRANMERE Rovers face Walsall in League One action at Prenton Park tonight.

Kicking off at 7.45pm, it will be the 67th league meeting between the two and follows Rovers 1-0 defeat by MK Dons on Friday.

Last season Ronnie Moore's squad won 2-1 at Prenton Park thanks to goals from Robbie Weir and Mustafa Tiryaki and 1-0 at the Banks's Stadium following an Andy Robinson strike.

Moore said that while his players picked up one or two knocks in during Saturday's match against MK Dons, he expects to select from an unchanged squad tonight.

Rovers still remain top of the League One table with 37 points, two above second-placed Sheffield United.

Ronnie added he is still searching the loan market for a solution to his striker shortage.

Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro is out of action with a broken metatarsal and Jake Jervis' loan spell from Birmingham City comes to an end this weekend.

And with Joe Thompson and Abdulai Bell-Baggie also in the treatment room the Manager is short of attacking options.

He said: "We're looking but trying to find strikers is a problem.

"I tried to bring Mendez-Laing in from Peterborough this week but the money he's on we can't afford and he goes to Portsmouth.

"It's astounding when you look at the situation they're in down there and the situation we're in, but we asked and we can't afford him."

Rovers' League One campaign continues on Saturday against Stevenage, with a 3pm kick-off.
