FIRE crews were in action this afternnon after a blaze broke out at a house in Hoylake.

The incident happened at around 4.30pm in Manor Road.

A Merseyside Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said the house was “well alight” by the time firefighters arrived although it is thought to have been extinguished now.

It is understood no-one was injured and crews from West Kirby, Heswall and Wallasey remain at the scene.
