OASIS rockers Noel and Liam Gallagher are among the stars to have signed a guitar which will be auctioned off in aid of Claire House.

The unique piece of music history is being auctioned on eBay to boost funds for the Bebington-based children’s hospice and Manchester’s Francis House.

Among the stars to have personally signed the guitar are Elbow, The Ting Tings and The Stone Roses.

Adam Masters, the man behind the guitar and the project said he came up with the idea of ‘Madchester’ two years ago when his friend’s little girl died.

Adam, who worked with charity CHArt which donates instruments to children’s hospices, said: “A friend, colleague and legend of the Manchester music scene and his wife, lost a beloved daughter at the age of one. My daughter was the same age at the time and I was floored by emotion. Sadness, anger, confusion-how could this happen to someone so young? To some of the nicest people you could ever meet? To any parent? Life is so unfair.

But most of all it made me for the first time really want to make a difference. Music is everything to a lot of us, the soundtrack to life. A few of us have been lucky enough to have made careers working around it and be part of some amazing moments, but it means nothing in the grand scheme of things.

“However because of our chosen career path things like this become possible and it was as simple as this....I was not going to stop until that guitar had the biggest names ever to come out of Manchester on it. That mission is now complete.”

And it is hoped the auction will provide much-needed funds for the hospice, according to Relationships Manager Clair Bedford.

She said: “Claire House is always full of laughter and music so to be one of the recipients from the sale of this unique piece of musical history is truly amazing. Every penny from the sale of the guitar will be supporting children with complex medical conditions and we’re so grateful to Adam and CHArt for all the hard work they’ve put into this project.

“We’ll be keeping a close eye on the auction when it goes live and wish all potential bidders the very best of luck!”

The guitar will be auctioned on eBay from November 1.
