Tranmere take on Preston North End at Prenton Park tomorrow
LEAGUE One leaders Tranmere Rovers will be hoping for a return to winning ways when they take on Preston North End at Prenton Park tomorrow.
The match, kicking off 3pm as part of a family fun day, will be the 21st league meeting between the two clubs.
Ronnie Moore's squad go into the game in top spot in League One with 30 points from 14 games. At Prenton Park Ronnie Moore's side has won five, drawn one and lost one.
The match comes four days after Rovers lost their second League One game in a row, a 2-1 home defeat against Doncaster Rovers at Prenton Park on Tuesday.
Jake Cassidy scored his ninth goal of the season on 86 minutes, but former Rovers' striker Iain Hume won the game for the visitors two minutes into added time.
Preston come to Wirral at eighth place on the division with 21 points. Graham Westley’s side have won three, drawn one and lost three on the road this season.
Ronnie Moore could hand a debut to loan signing Nathan Eccleston after the striker joined the Club for a month long loan deal from Blackpool on Thursday.
The manager hopes to have Andy Robinson fit but he is definitely without Jake Jervis and Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro due to injury, meaning Eccleston could start up front.
Ian Goodison was in the squad for the first time in 2012-13 on Tuesday night and is likely to be involved again.
Their first match, on Boxing Day in 1970, finished 3-3 at Prenton Park and saw Malcolm Moore, Ken Beamish and Paul Crossley on the scoresheet.
Rovers supporters young and old are invited to wear Halloween fancy dress for the home game as part of the Club’s Family Fun Day.
Fans can wear any Halloween costume they like for chance to be in with a chance of winning. Supporters wishing to enter the fancy dress competition need to visit the Club Shop before the game to collect their entry number.
At 2.40pm, entrants will make their way to the side of the pitch with their number and winners will be announced.
As well as the competition, there will also be free face painting, pre-match entertainment from the Men from Uncle and interactive sports games in the club car park.
The Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal was launched on Wednesday and there will be a collection at Prenton Park ahead of tomorrow's kick-off.
The club is running a special offer of just £5 admission for Seniors (60+) and current and ex-servicemen and women.
