POLICE are searching for a handbag lost in Ellesmere Port that contained a mixture of medication.

The black bag, with short handles, was lost in the town centre on Friday afternoon.

Police have said that if taken in a large quantity the drugs could prove to be fatal.

The handbag contained one month's supply of blood pressure tablets, labelled amalovese, one month's supply of anti-depressants, labelled paroxetine, 60 tablets of diazepam, and two asthma inhalers.

Anybody coming into contact with the medication should hand it into the police or a local pharmacy.

If anyone has any information on the bag they are being asked to call the police on 0845 458 0000 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
