Orchestra are hitting the right notes
The Co-operative is helping members of the Wirral Co-operative Orchestra to hit the right notes thanks to a £500 grant to buy sheet music.
The Community Fund award will also help towards the orchestra's rehearsal venue hire costs.
"We are very grateful for this Co-operative donation. We stage a number of fundraising concerts each year and this money will help with our running costs as well as enabling us to enlarge our library of sheet music," said librarian Jeremy Eyre.
The orchestra's next performance will be at St John's Hospice in Wirral on Saturday, June 21.
The Co-operative Community Fund offers grants of between £100 and £5,000 based on a set of values and principles such as social responsibility and caring for others.
Approximately £100,000 is available annually to support charities in the region.
